The Results Are In....

After a 2 weeks of discomfort, 2 sets of blood tests, a VERY uncomfortable ultrasound and a nauseating upper GI series, my doctor informed me on Wednesday that they can't find anything wrong with me. So 1 month after my pains begin, I've been told not to worry about anything and that I should be fine. It is the medical professional's best guess that I had some gallstones that were causing me discomfort, but they likely have either returned home to the gallbladder or have passed through my system never to be heard from again. Oh...and if I get the pain again, then I get to go back for the tests to be repeated!

Other than that, things are good - I now have a tree planted on the front lawn. The tree - which is called a tulip tree - was planted for free by the city of Toronto. It is about 7-8 feet tall, but rather skinny - I know it's a baby still and will take many years to mature, but I'm happy that it is my newest addition to the house. Hopefully there will be a growth spurt this year and I'll be able to enjoy the new tree that I have nicknamed 'little green'. Stay tuned for further adventures of CraxyRaE and Little Green!

Oh! And I have signed up to participate in the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life on June 2nd in Burlington. I have emailed a few of you an invitation to pledge me for this cause. If you did not receive the note and would like to support myself and my team for this event, please let me know and I will forward the information to your attention. I am currently 45% of the way to my $200 goal, but would like to surpass the goal before the relay.

2 weeks to go until the 1/2 marathon - hopefully I'll survive despite my falling off the training wagon.
3 weeks to go until the long weekend.
4 weeks to go until we move buildings at work.
5 weeks to go until the Relay for life.

I hope everyone is well and I wish you all the best!
Keep in touch!

How time flies

So I'm having a hard time keeping up with everything and everyone in my life right now - I'm very sorry about that!

I'm not intentionally ignoring anyone, but I've found myself putting things off for when I have more time, and it just never comes. Replying to an email when I get home becomes replying the next day and the cycle continues for days or weeks before I realize how long it has been and I reprimand myself for being a delinquent friend!

I'd like to think that this will be corrected soon - once I get off my lazy butt and stop trying to feel more rested, but instead learn to live in the state that I am in. Hopefully the change in weather will give me a boost to be more active again.

I go in for my x-rays at the hospital tomorrow morning, so that will be one more thing that I can remove from my to do list and my things to keep me up at night list. The x-rays are in the morning, so I'm currently debating if I'll be able to return to work in the afternoon. I've read some things that the barium can upset your stomach and that you should consume large amounts of fluids for several days to flush it out of your system, so that's probably not something I'd like to be doing at work...we'll see though.

Hope everyone is well! Don't hesitate to contact me either - I'm making an effort to not procrastinate in responding ;)

Peace out,
C.R.

TGIF

Hey All!!

So for those of you who have been holding your breath waiting to hear how I'm doing...you must have expired a day or two ago..hehe!

I'm doing better - the test results came back ok, but I am now lucky enough to have to go for an upper GI series of xrays - can we say, "mmmm...barium shake!" The theory is that I have an ulcer and the xray should show if I do or not. I've been doing well lately, last evening was rather uncomfortable, but I can make it through a day of work without going home in tears :)

Speaking of work, it looks like I'll be making my first phone calls on Monday - EEK!!! I think I'll be ok and I just need to get on the phone and start seeing what I can do - I need a bonus to pay off some vacation debt and to pay off the new loan that I was just approved for.

Weekend outlook:
Dinner and a movie with Aaron tonight
Saturday - cleaning around the house - inside and out - maybe the beginning of some gardening or garden re-vamping
Sunday - visiting the travel show with Aaron and meeting up with the bro - gotta plan my next escape...which will it be? London to visit Maria with a side trip to Paris - or Kenora? hmmmm...only time will tell!

Hope everyone is healthy and happy!
C.R.

p.s. I'll try hard to get some more trip content up soon - there really is no excuse at this point eh?

It has been a while...

Sorry to all my devoted fans...there must be one or two of you out there?

I haven't been feeling all too well lately but I have an appointment this afternoon with the doctor to find out what the tests say is wrong with me. And Crazy isn't the problem this time.

Wish me luck my friends - I will let you know if I will live later today or tomorrow.

Take care,
C.R.
