The Relay is Over

The Relay for life has now come and gone.

On Friday, myself and 8 other brave souls took on the challenge of a 12 hour relay for cancer research. Few of us got much sleep, one went home sick and I have been suffering from allergies that turned into a sinus infection and is now creeping down into my lungs likely to turn into bronchitis before it's all over. On the bright side, I have been able to get more sleep in the last 3 days than I have probably had in the last 3 weeks.

All in all, the relay went well I think...it only rained for a few minutes and we were able to raise $1885 for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Oh, I almost forgot the highlight of the evening - when Ken Shaw from CTV made fun of us!! At the opening ceremony, Aaron and I thought we were at the back of the crowd, then everyone turned around, so we were at the front. Our team had dressed up in Hawaiian gear as our team name was the Hula Hotties. So Ken is mentioning a few groups of people that were there...the Scotiabank people, the people with the star sunglasses, then he turns to us and says, "I have no idea why they are in grass skirts and leis, there's always one in a crowd". And then the pictures started snapping...oh what fun...thanks Ken!

Well, I'm off to go blow my nose or have a sneezing fit...Hope everyone else is doing well!

Lates,
