Uni-Reunion

I told you I wouldn't take so long this time!

On Friday, I went out and bought myself a digital camera and have been having quite a bit of fun with it so far. You can look forward to more visuals being added to my commentary - friends beware...I may be lurking around ready to capture your beautiful faces at any moment!

Saturday, Aaron and I made the journey to the Kitchener-Waterloo area to visit with friends Jill and Daryan. We had a lovely day visiting the market, having lunch, a bit of shopping and a quick visit to Brick Brewery where we missed the sampling session, but were still able to try out a few new beverages (Bam Bay is a new one I'm trying right now).

The trip to St. Jacob's Market resulted in the purchase of 2 pies for the barbecue Jill and Daryan were hosting on Saturday night. Due to the heat, it was decided that the pies shouldn't stay in the car while we were running other errands as it may lead to their demise. The pies came everywhere with us - like a highschool carry an egg around as your child experiment. It was worth it - and who had any doubt that the Stone Crock bakery would disappoint?

The evening was very enjoyable! It was really nice to get together with the great friends from a time that seems so long ago. Attending the festivities were: Mark, Jenny, Mike, Heidi, Jeremy, Jill, Daryan, Aaron and myself. Unfortunately, Inga, Mel, Rich, Bec & Randy were unable to attend.

Many thanks to Jill and Daryan for their hospitality - and we love the new place!! I just realized that in all of my excitement with the new camera that I forgot to get a photo of the house - I'll learn soon enough! Some pictures I did remember to take are below.

Until next time, stay safe and keep your stick on the ice!

I've been in hiding...

OK, I haven't really been in hiding, but I'm sure you all thought I was!!

Really I've been here, there and everywhere, but no real time to write. I'm so sorry to my fans!

What have I been up to recently? Two weeks ago I headed to Sandbanks with the girls. (pictures below). And this past weekend, I took a vacation day to help the rents build a new shed at the cottage!

I know I've been busy doing other things too...I'm constantly trying to tidy the house, but it still needs some work. I got my hair cut yesterday and I'm no longer a blonde!

This coming weekend Aaron and I are heading to Kitchener to visit with Jill and Daryan. I'm sure I'll have more to write after then as well - it will be a mini- reunion with the university peeps, so it's bound to be interesting!

Until next time (it won't be so long - I promise!)
Take care my peeps!

These are the days of my life...

So I've been informed that I'm falling behind in my posts. To my many fans, I apologize for my long breaks in communication - it has nothing to do about my feelings towards any of you!

Not much has been going on with me, however, I find myself constantly on the go. Last weekend, Aaron, my brother David and Aaron's sister Jenn went over to Centre Island to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and to watch the Dragon Boat Festival. The link below provides some pictures from the day. We couldn't have asked for a better day to be on the island.
Toronto International Dragon Boat Festival

This past week has been work and a bit of rest, and the week ended with a trip up to the cottage for the long weekend. I lucked out with the traffic and only saw a short (5 minute) traffic jam while heading through the bustling metropolis that is Port Perry Ontario. The weather was good - had a wee rain storm Saturday evening, but we managed to find shelter. Sunday brought plant sales in Lindsay. Canadian Tire proved to have the better sales this year - two years ago I hit the jackpot at Garry's Garden Centre, but the deals haven't been so good since. I walked away from the trip to town with 13 perennials for $0.99 each, 3 boxwood shrubs and a potentilla. Now my only challenge is where to put everything - the front garden needs a few new plants since it has been expanded, and I really must put a bit of effort into the gardens in the back yard as I haven't done too much with them this year. With any luck, tomorrow will be a good day and I'll be able to take advantage of my extra day off to get some work done - if it rains, I have plenty to do in the house as well!

I hope that everyone enjoyed their Canada Day weekend and that everyone is keeping well.

Please drop me a line to say hi and if we're lucky, we might be able to get together this summer - my next available weekend is July 29th....

Love y'all!!
