...and breathe...

So the move came and went in 4 hours yesterday. Aaron's apartment is virtually empty now, the basement is full, and the cats have officially taken over....or so they want to be the case. I'm hoping that they are still getting used to their new digs, because I'm not used to their vocal stylings at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6am...

Hopefully this evening Rogers will recognize the new modem and our internet will function as we would like it to...

The wall in the basement has been painted - only 1 touch up to do where I missed a spot on the second coat yesterday...

Things to do - finish the floor in the room, finish the concrete repairs and paint the remaining 3 walls before moving in the furniture and taking advantage of the new space...also need a couch or something - IKEA gift certificates would be a wonderful birthday gift if anyone is wondering - only 16 days to go!

Still need to do a few things to get ready for Jill and Daryan's wedding on the 7th...can't wait. They have asked me to take part in their rotating MC idea - so I will be announcing the bouquet toss...need to come up with something clever to say - might be hard for me!

Drop me a line if you've got something good to say :)

Stay tuned for invites to the house re-warming party welcoming Aaron and the kitties to the house and christening the new room in the basement...it might be a while, but it will be worth the wait!

Take care my peeps!!

Life Updates

I've been a little slow in updating lately, and there may be a few of you who are interested to find out what's new with me...so here goes:

- One week to go until Aaron moves in
- Stud wall has been built in the basement - drywall to follow this weekend
- Attending Bridal Shower for Jill on Saturday
- Weight loss to date is 28.8 lbs
- Officially started the new job at work - I am now working in a Small deal hub for systems and storage sales across western Canada...if you want to understand that further, please feel free to ask, although I must warn you that I'm still figuring it out for myself...
- My car has been fixed and returned - if anyone has any body work problems, I've got a great guy to help you out!! You can't even tell that anything happened...AND they cleaned the inside of my car...shampooed the carpets and everything!

I think that's about all for now...I'll post a few pictures of the progress in the basement if it will accept them from me today :) Hope life is treating everyone well.

Peace out,
C.R.

Pics in order of appearance:

You take the good, you take the bad...

You take them all and there you have....
The Facts of Life!

What a wonderful show that I have rediscovered thanks to CTS. I think it's on at 7 or 7:30 on week nights. For some good old Mrs. Garrett - you need to tune in!

This weekend, the folks, Aaron and I held a yard sale on Saturday and Sunday to clear out the basement for renovations and the big move. The benefits are:

Day 1 - $65.07
Day 2 - $94.10
Total - $159.17 = PRICELESS!!

We managed to clear out a lot of things that had been hanging around. I don't know why there was no interest at all in my babysitters club books...but we will be donating them to a school in Scarborough so many more people may enjoy the stories I cherished as a young girl...or whatever...

We met a number of people - some nice neighbours - and some weird return customers.

All in all, I believe the two days were a success - very draining, but a success.

Tonight we pick up the paint and stain and required extras for the walls and floor. The stud wall is scheduled to be installed this Thursday so renovations are underway!

I will post some more pictures of the progress shortly.

Very tired today and have no more brain power left. I'll write again when I have a moment to "spare" hehe.

Hope you're all doing well! Keep in touch - even though I'm not great at responding in a timely manner!

See you...in September...

Ok, so what exactly happened to the summer?

Now that the countdown for Aaron moving in is well underway, we have been focusing on cleaning out the basement in preparation for the renovations. Hopefully the yard sale this weekend will go well and raise some funds for the renovation as well as clean out the stuff that has accumulated in the basement over time.

Tomorrow is the beginning of the Toronto International Film Festival. Again, Aaron and I are having problems getting tickets. The online ordering system keeps crashing again this year and the box office line continues to ring busy. I guess we'll be lucky if we get to see anything this year. :(

Other than that, I suppose there isn't much else new right now...doing training for the new job...busy with the house when I get home...I occasionally get some sleep ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE!!

I'll let you know if I am successful getting tickets to the festival...wish me luck! Check my picasa site for pics of the basement improvements...and if you know anyone in need of some small kitchen appliances or books and other assorted stuff, please send them to my place this weekend. Everything must go! And all prices are negotiable! :)

Peace!
