The lights are up and yes, we're home...

Because yesterday was a nice day and who knows what tomorrow will bring, we have put up the Christmas lights outside the house. Now all I need to do is get a proper extension cord so that they will all work off the timer...sounds like an easy enough task.

Not much else is new other than it's the weekend and as far as I know I'm not swamped with work to do! I'm planning on taking a gift inventory this afternoon to determine who needs anything, if I've gone overboard and can hold on to things for birthdays or if god forbid I forgot someone. I think I'm in pretty good shape though. I think I'll take some time this morning to finish with the cards so I can drop them in the mail next weekend. For me, everything big will happen next weekend - I'll get the lights on the timer, the tree set up, the cards posted and I'll bake the Christmas cake so I can start soaking it and get it plenty of rummy for the big day on the 25th. Since most of my shopping is done and the wrapping too, the month of December will hopefully be relatively stress-free and if not, I'll just take it out on my work peeps when we go paint-balling on the 6th :)

I love Christmas, it's always so nice to see everyone and to have a good time. I really hope to be able to see everyone between now and the end of the year. Christmas eve is 4 weeks today, so there's lots of time still ;) Thanks to everyone who has replied for the party, I hope more people can make it still, but I know it's a busy time and we'll catch up at some point :)

So the next thing on my list of planning is.... New Years...what's everyone planning?

Merry almost December,

WOW...

It's been over a week since some of you have heard from me last....don't fret - I'm here, I'm alive...

Work has been very busy lately. I onlye worked for about 45 minutes tonight though, so that's an improvement....better than the 5 hours I lost on Sunday and will never get back :(

Today was a nice change from the norm. Our team took the day off to do something for others followed by treating ourselves for doing so. This morning we headed off to the west end of the city to visit the Daily Bread Food Bank. After 3 hours of making boxes and sorting food, 2 cuts and several blisters and one warm heart later, we headed to Milestones for some food and drink.

Lunch was a nice treat and I got to sit and chat with some of the guys on my team I don't often see. Still being new, and being quiet for the most part at work, the guys don't seem to know how to act around me. It's rather funny, but I think they're getting to know me now. I heard several times today "Regan, shut your ears" followed by a lot of guy-speak. I even got an invite to go with them to the rippers, but because I was driving and would have to be loaded to go with those guys to the strip club, I decined. I got home early after stopping at the grocery store and picking up the pool schedule, so I went for a walk before cooking dinner. Then after dinner Aaron and I headed up the street to Canadian Tire for a new tail light for Sassy and some hooks for my festive lights that I hope to put up this weekend if it is as nice as the last report I saw suggested.

So that's about all that's new for now. Off to bed for some screwy dreams I'm sure...

See y'all soon - and please rsvp to my holiday party invite so I know if anyone will come...Thanks!

Peace peeps!

In my "spare" time

I'm a bit tired today as I was working until 10:30 last night which made my CTS act up and resulted in me not sleeping well as my hands kept locking up and waking me from my restless slumber.

I got a call the other day from the cancer society inviting me to attend a meeting on Monday as they are starting preparations for next year's relay for life. They are looking for input from last year's event as well as volunteers for the committee. Presuming I can get out of the office and make it to the meeting by 6:30, I think I'll see what I can do...might be interesting. Anyone who participated this year, please leave your comments on what you would like to see in the event this year.

Speaking of my spare time, I have none, so I must get back to work...oh what fun!

Peace,
C.R.

These are the days of my life...

Ok, so there's not much new going on right now...work is busy, but not too bad yet...Got a bunch of Christmas shopping done and wrapped. Still waiting for the tuner to arrive for the pretty tv (monitor) sitting in the lovely basement that I would love to be able to watch, but I can wait...I'm occasionally a patient person.

Thinking about a Christmas open house for December 23rd...not sure how the turn out will be...maybe the 22nd would be easier for people to stop by on their way home from work or something - if you have an opinion, please let me know! I don't know if people would be involved in family events on the saturday or not...we've got a family thing at my aunt and uncle's on the 24th, then out in Ajax on Christmas day. So I'd really like to be able to get some friends together and now that I'm not doing Christmas Eve dinner as my Aunt has taken it on, I need to plan for something! And rambling finished...for now...

I'm planning on taking it easy this weekend - who knows how that will work though? Gonna play in some leaves, maybe go for a walk - and get the schedule for the pool so I can go swimming next week because I really need to get back to that! Hey - anyone familiar with the kettlebell? I'm interested in getting one, but would like to know if anyone has used one for their take on it.

OK - time for lunch or web surfing....take care everyone - hope you're all doing well!
