Business Idea #?

So anyone who knows me well, knows that I've always had a vision for one day having my own business. And those who really know me well, know that over the years I have had many different ideas of how to make it happen. I daydreamed a new one today.

Through observation and discussions with many friends, I find that I'm not the only one who has dreams beyond the corporate world. Whether it is a hobby on the side that people hope will bring in some much needed additional income, or that may some day turn into a full-time gig, I find that I have many talented friends.

One friend once mentioned to me an idea she had about something all mothers would want. Other friends are talented artistically by way of photography, drawing, sewing, knitting, craftiness,...the list goes on. All that being said, I started thinking about how difficult it could be to try and market yourself. How does one get their name out and turn the corner from just being known by friends to being known by other people? How can you break into a niche market and become successful at doing something you love? This made me think that wouldn't it be grand to combine talents and reach out to a broader community? Why not have one location that houses all talents? Thus began my dream of a "one of a kind boutique", a place to showcase the fruits of our labours. Do you ever feel at a loss trying to think of the right gift to give someone? When the big-box stores just don't cut it for a gift or personal decor, where can you go? I'm always trying to find that special something that hasn't been mass-produced when a special occasion arises.

Anyway, I don't want to give too much of my dream away, but thought I'd give you a little taste of what my mind produces. If anything I have said interests you at all, let me know. One of these days I'll have the time and drive to "stop talking, start doing"...
