Product Review

Me again!

So I'm here to review my recent purchases from ELF Cosmetics. I bought 3 eyeshadow palettes, 2 nail polish, 1 set of brushes, 2 5-packs of glosses (one plumping, one high shine), liquid eyeliner, and 1 pack of cellphone charm lip glosses. I think that was it.
Since I received my shipment, I haven't had the time to try everything, but here is what I can say thus far. The eyeliner flakes off and is a waste of time/money (good thing it only cost $1). Nail polish #1: good coverage, nice drying time, so far has stood up to 2 days of my life with very little to no chipping or flaking. That's good in my books - haven't tried #2 yet, but presume the same result. The eyeshadows are nice and stay on all day, my only complaint if you can call it that is that the powder falls off the brush onto my face during application - maybe should try the spongy applicator instead? Lipglosses: the plumping one tingles, I think it plumps, have yet to take before & after pictures. High shine is shiny. The colours are fairly pale, which is my problem with most glossy products as my natural lip colour is very pale I need a darker coverage. But I'm still happy with my purchases.
I think I may try the mineral make up next - I'm tired of my usual brand and I tend to look either pasty or tanned in the summer when neither is true.

Off to the Green Living show this weekend. Taking the better way to get there, so should be an interesting Saturday. I hope the weather is decent...nothing worse than a crappy day going downtown. If it is nice, maybe we can wander through the beaches on the way home :)

Happy spring!

Product Review

So I finally got my shipment of new organic shampoo, conditioner, face wash, blemish mousse and face cream.

So far, I am impressed with my friends at Green Beaver. The shampoo and conditioner smell really nice. I opted for the rejuvenating variety for my colour treated hair. The shampoo seems to do what most "natural" shampoos do to my hair...it leaves it kind of squeaky and feeling rather tangled, but clean from what I can tell. The conditioner is what I am really impressed with. A fairly small amount removes all tangles from my hair and it feels really light and fresh. I even decided to try not using any of my de-frizz treatments today and I can't seem to see much of a difference which is a good thing!
The face wash is nice and citrus-y, doesn't make my face feel tight, I like! The blemish mousse is alright - not too sure if it's doing anything just yet, so after day 2, I don't have much to comment on. The face cream seems to moisturize just enough, it's along the lines of using a vitamin e lotion. It isn't greasy, pretty light and seems to do the trick.

Come back later in the week and I hope to review my purchases from ELF cosmetics. Most items are only $1!

Peace,
